I need you to back way up. Start with where do I find this advance setting tab? I tried Tools, Internet Options, I didn't see it. I clicked on Frostwire, I didn't see it. I tried the link in step 3 of your post, I didn't see it. I repeat and I am getting lost and frustrated. You say it's easy to follow the steps, maybe, but I need the first step to start. |
1 Attachment(s) Here is the 3 step process to finding the option in FrostWire: Attachment 6291 After you find the Firewall window option in FrostWire, Check the middle option for Port Forward in FrostWire. Then type in the port you wish to use. The Manual and listening ports should be the same in FrostWire. And use this same port number for your router firewall. :) When you do the firewall exception in your router-firewall, save the rule name as FrostWire. You could do a separate rule for LimeWire also but it would need to be a different port number. For example, perhaps FrostWire use port 6346 and LimeWire 6348. |
Need some help. I tried to download LW again a few months ago, and I had a Runtime issues with it. I found a fix on here that worked, but I am now unable to find it again. The fix was to create a shortcut to the "jar" file which worked perfectly the first time. The issue is now this time I can't find the "jar" file when I tried to download LW this time. I am running windows 7 currently. Any help would be great! |
Use the Add/Remove Control Panel and remove the fix. Then re-install it. See if that works? It will only work with LW 5 versions, not LW 4 which btw is unaffected by the equivalent java issue. The LimeStart program looks in the standard programs folder to find LW and the jar file to open it. If it is not located there then there will be an issue. ;) |
I guess I should have mentioned that I had LW installed on another computer at the time, and I am trying to install it on my other computer. I downloaded LW from TPB but sadly none of them seem to work for me. The last fix was easy, and it worked fine for me. Last time I was able to just use the fix and it was fine. I looked in the "lib" file when I downloaded it this time like another person recommended to do, but it was not there. It's like there are no program files in the download like there was last time. Is there a place I can get a working copy like LW 4 that won't require a fix? Maybe it's just my lack of understanding how this all works that's the issue. |
If you wish to look at other versions then see http://www.gnutellaforums.com/340213-post427.html If My Files does not work for you then look at the link above for a LW 4 version. I made a couple of minor changes to the shortcuts a few weeks ago which should not affect LimeStart's abilities. The link I gave is a non-updated link, so should be as good as a month or so ago. |
You are awesome! Thank you for the help. I found one that works! |
