Is it still bad to download songs from Limewire? The only time I use Limewire is when I can't find the hard to find songs on the paid services. I use Napster, Itunes, Rhapsody, buymusic.com, and liquid.com all the time, but occasionally I can't find that certain song to download and I will turn to Limewire. Will I get caught by the RIAA? I just want to be careful. I would only be downloading three songs anyway.

That still did not answer my question specifically.

But that is the post where you should ask specifically.

arne_bab is right you should had asked there but to answer your question yes it's illegal and what I've heard is that if you download over 850 songs without paying the Riaa might come to your door step, but that's just a rummer and you should be fine if you don't live in the US or if you haven't downloaded 850 songs without paying with the same ip

But if you live in canada I've heard you're doubly at risk. After all the Riaa has offices everywhere. And when the us forces join up with the local forces, and they form in several rows surrounding your house with helicopters hovering above. There's no way out. Whether it's 849 files or 49 files. Did I say that?!?
