Question Is there a problem with 4.2.6, Win ME or the network?

Recently upgraded to 4.2.6 on Win ME and lost all of my partially downloaded files (this was really annoying as there were a few hard-to-find gems).
Now worse seems to happen -- all files are always "need more sources", including ones requested a second or two previously from a successful search.
I've tried some of the tips I've read in the forums but always get the same result -- need more sources.
Or is the explanation simpler -- EG: bad weather, not back at work/school yet?
PS: This has been going on for past two weeks and has resulted in me using WinMX, Kazaa and Emule (but, as usual, their users never have anything interesting to share).

Default

It must be the bad weather. lol or all the above.

May I suggest you try 3 things:

1. Delete the LW Preferences folder called .limewire (whilst LW is closed!) & found here: Your .limewire folder is in "C:\My Documents"

2. Update your Java version 1.5 (take the JRE)

3. Don't use the Resume/Find Sources button on many if any files. This will result in your files queueing for much longer & several other side-fx.

Default OK, I tried that

OK, I tried that.

Three observations:

1. *.limewire wasn't in "my downloads", it was in "windows".

2. new java file did nothing.

3. my only partially downloaded file (rare as batcrap) has disappeared at 86% complete. -- after downloading bits and pieces for only the past two months. Thanks for nothing!

I thank you for nothing. No, I spit on your grave for you making my p2p experience worse than it was.

PS: LW sucks thanks to people like you. Looks like back to WinMX -- at least it works, even if there's nothing there that I want!!

How are you going to resurrect this file -- by more stupid, ill-informed advice?
