If you paid a lot of money for it then i'd cancel the transaction asap. LW Pro costs US $18.88 & the Basic version is Free. Some scam sites will have you pay more & then direct you to the downld page of the Basic version. Since when would the record companies be happy about people sharing copyright songs for free when they don't get a penny/cent. Any web site that claims Free downlds of music & movies is a scam site!

so whut if im like scared to be caught by the FBI or CIA or sumthin, or is there a way u can comfort me whike me still being able to download form limewire

i got it fixed but y doesnt LW find anythin with a license so mean like the FBI can find us or sumthin

Mac OSX users will find the options in a different location. Use Command (apple key) & comma, (⌘-,) to bring up the LW preferences. Then same as above. ___ (click image to see larger view)

hey guys can some one please help me!! i answered yes to the liscensing thing and it wont let me dl fast the 1 to 2 kbs.... im going crazy i cant figure out what i got to do. i got cable connection and a really fast computer... can some one please help me. thx alot.

With LimeWire open click on Tools/Options/Advanced preferences is in the advanced options.

We are going to need a little more information from you make sure you do the speed test it is the link at the bottom.

Can you give us a total description of your set up:
1. OS version? (Eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (Eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your ISP provider?
10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.
11. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?
These details are vital if you want us to find out what your connection problem is.

* Did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other. http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml

I am not new to Limewire. My older version stopped downloading. When I checked for updates, it was pretty old, so I purchased a new version. It still will not download. I did the license thing. I checked the firewall program. In the monitor, I can see incoming searches. I did all the tests you linked to and they came up that the test worked.

Download Speed: 2576 kbps (322 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 436 kbps (54.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

I can search and find numerous copies of what I am looking for, up to 114 copies at a time, available. But I cannot download any of them.

What type of files are you trying to download? There are many fake files on the network, mostly in the video and program sections. Fake files often have a high number of hosts listed.
