when I do a search for music I get this awful porn stuff. If I highlight audio it goes away but will ot show my searc for songs. I went to tools and did the filter but is still there.

Have a look thru the following thread & see the tips to help solve your problem: Weird results from searches (click on link) Don't forget to press the Apply button & tick the Ignore Adult content option.

But why is it that if you do like Sphinx suggested you get two or three items you wanted and a couple of hundred unrelated songs by the same artist? I hoped the version 9.23 might have cured this... but the search function is still pretty hit and miss .... really .... imho

Try to be more specific when entering searches. Don't just enter the title; enter the artist, album, year, etc. This might help you narrow down your searches.

Also, search in the afternoon or in the morning. Many people with porn seem to be on in the evening or at night. Go figure.

I'm either doing something right, or I'm just lucky, but when I search for music I *never* get any porn stuff. I'd like to know what you people put in your search terms that brings up all the filth!

If you configure LW correctly you should never see any porn... use the filters properly and you should never see what you don't want to see...

I only get porn when I'm looking for trailers or images. Never once have I gotten porn in my music searches.

I've gotten porn when looking for an mp3 file. I've never clicked on a porn file, so I don't know if it was an audio file or not, but I've never run across any files that were porn disguised as legitimate files.

You can do an Any Type search & then filter it to show audio files only (see image sample below.)

I have Limewire Basic, so I don't know if more porn is coming in on basic or not. (It seems like it would come in on both versions regardless.) Maybe people are mislabeling their audio files to scare others. I search using audio or video, not any type (because you get so many useless files, it's better to be specific). Either way, I don't feel like clicking on one of those porn/audio files to find out what it is! I'd feel better just ignoring it.
