Default similar problem SOLVED!

had a similar problem with a file I could not delete and was starting to get really worried. so I decided to check out this forum, and EUREKA! your suggestion re: unlocker worked beautifully, instantly, without affecting anything else at all. i'm impressed and just wanted to say thanks a million. it's so nice to know there is reliable help around when you need it. thanks again.

And, straight from the horse's as..........

Windows Vista Help: Start your computer in safe mode

I am sure that you will find the OFFICIAL guidelines far more helpful than anything you could get here.
As in, Push F8 at Startup !

btw, Where is the pain ? I am not familiar with **** - But then, with Vista, it's a whole body and mind bad experience, eh ?
What a con... Love the new promised file system ! (The one they never delivered.) Only thing to do with Vista is practice removing it so you can help your friends !

Default File Would Not Delete

update:

Got It! It was in "My Music" folder. I went for it and deleted this folder. I know it sounds crazy! It would delete the folder as a whole but not the particular file by itself. Then I done a system startup scan with the blue screen set it tp autofix errors. It reinstated the Folder. It was just empty now. So I replaced the good music files with a back up.

So you tried this one? DelinvFile - Utility for Deleting Invalid Files and Folders

'If' the download file is still in your downloads list in LW, then press the Cancel button. CLOSE LimeWire, (you will have to sacrifice your incomplete files to do this), delete your LW preferences Point #2 or most likely 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) OR if VISTA see instructions for finding the folder here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...der-vista.html & delete it. To double-check, go to your LW incomplete folder & remove any files called Downloads.dat or Downloads.bak

If that does not do the trick, then create a new folder, move all your good files to it, delete the entire folder where this 'rogue' file is. Then rename the folder you created to be exact to the older one & move it back. See if that works.

That deleting the "rogue file" by isolating it in the original folder helped. Thanks lord of the rings...if it wasnt for you...the file from hell wouldve been pissing me off even more.

Confused Downloading problems

I have a problem similar to the ones that have been mentioned and would appreciate any help. I downloaded a file and tried to move it to another folder. I was notified file was being used by another program and could not be moved or deleted. I tryed to close all programs including limewire but it didn't work. Then my shared folder and "my computer" folders started to freeze. I finally had to delete my shared folder and create a new one to get rid of the file. The freezing disappeared but I developed a new problem after restarting the computer. Upon reopening limewire, I got a notice that my old incomplete files could not be resumed. Now my library displays that these files have made 0% progress even though they are in my incomplete folder in their unfinished state. I would deeply appreciate any ideas. Thanks.
