Just got a new PC and am having trouble downloading. Please help. I've been using Limewire for a few years now on my old Gateway. It's always worked fine and fast. I just got the latest edition of Limewire Pro and am having a horrible time trying to download songs. When I hook up my old computer there is no problem downloading songs so there must be some type of setting I need to turn on or off.
My new computer is an HP pavilion. I have a WebStar DPC2100 Series modem and am running Windows XP Media Addition. I have a broadband connection.
At any rate here is my problem. When I connect to Limewire everything is fine. I have a Turbo-charged connection and there is no brick wall. When I find a song to download it continually comes up with "need more sources"...even if it's a song like "*******" from ******** where I'm pulling from 90 users. If I click on enough (like maybe 20) of them it may eventually connect...but it will download extremely slow.
I tried searching the forum and found a setting in "tools" to "reset to default" (I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about) but that didn't help either. It's so frustrating that I can just plug my modem into the old computer and everything works fine, but when I try downloading from my new one I get nothing. Can somebody please help me? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
