plzzzz help something wrong with limewire not able to install it again

recently i removed both limewire n java frm my sys[windows xp-sp2]
im trying to reinstall limewire but im not able to do so..
im not dat good with computers n have pooor knowleage abt it...
so plz can you help me out..

this is what gets displayed

1."limewire cannot create uninstall information. installation will now exit. restaring the computer can often fix this":confused:

then

2."the file od directory\program files\limewire is corrupted and in readable please run chkdsk utility"

i tried running chkdsk but nothing worked out.. i did restart my comp almsot 5 times by now :cry:

when i try to delete d corrupted limewire file it says:
"cannot delete limewire:the file or directory is corrupted and unredaable"

How did you originally remove LW, did you use the LW uninstaller or did you use the Add/Remove programs control panel? The latter is not the way to uninstall LW. Normal process to uninstall LW is: Under the Start menu of your computer -> Programs -> LW -> Uninstall. Else, reinstalling LW will uninstall the previous version at the beginning of installation.

I'd recommend seeing this post: Errors due to mistakenly uninstalling LW using Add/Remove control panel - what to try now (click on blue link). Read from here onward!
This process includes using a register key cleaner (ridding of no longer needed components of programs from the system folder.)

If still no good, try a safe boot & try removing that folder then. My knowledge for windows systems is limited, so someone else may have better advice. But try the above anyways.

no limewire in program[start menu]

Probably not now if you used the add remove control panel, but some residue components of LW are probably still on the system. (1) Try using that recommended CCleaner to clean the system up (see link in previous post #2.)
(2) Then install Java using the OFFLINE installer which is about 13 MB in size.
(3) Then download & unzip the LW version suggested in my previous post #2.

After that, don't forget to install the OFFLINE version of Java (download to computer & then install.)
Then download the zipped version of LW; Download ‘Other’ version & simply unzip & use!

its showing hat ccleaner.exe-corrupt file....

should i give analyze or run cleaner?
