If I recall, BT HomeHub has some type of settings, need to check their site for more details. It might be what's affecting things for you. I'm vague on the details except some type of security was involved .. not sure if from your end or theirs but one you do have some control over with settings via a browser I believe.
Maybe two issues here:

2. Your brick wall is probably due to your BT Homehug. Port forward might be best way to fix it. First & most important step is (1) Setting up a Static ip for VISTA
