I think the failures might be due to the fact, that Limewire has a very bad file completion scheme. I tried similar back when I still gave it test runs and free space when download completes may be an issue. It seems it tries to move the entire download, which IMO is completely unnecessary when it comes to torrents. I don't know if they changed that now.
Real BitTorrent clients by default allocate space for the download and just check it for changes on startup and then a complete check once done. This makes moving the completed download unnecessary, which ensures much greater stability.
I have been using Vuze (formerly Azureus) for a long time now and not once had problems with it. |
