why is it all mp3 and wma?

Had to change hard drive, xnd install xp office. since then cant play .wma with out quick time and get a licevce aproval? #2 how can I move in mass to wmp so i can burn? any help most gratefull.ps still a new user with all these problems i have need of help for.
