Something happened and two of the main developers, Shaun and Lev, resigned in December. Ivan "In the dark we make a brighter light" |
bearshare im probly gonna get flamed for this but ive been on gnutella for about two years i was an avid user of gnotella and of peeranha i had tried earlier versions of bs and lw i liked gnotella for what best suited me then came the spyware wars. i had stayed away from even trying these clients im not a programmer just a plain ole user but in the advent of gnotella and peeranha i was forced to try some others. i finnaly broke down and tried bs i am amazed at the improvements there has been alot of work put in it i think its really good if only gnucleus had some of the features that perrana and gnotella did id be using them so far this looks like bs the best client for me p.s. i installed it and chose not to partisipate in the spyware and ran the latest adaware on my system came out clean i do feel as a betrayer of opensourse but it is the better mousetrap in my opinion |
What is your opinion about Kazaa. Sorry to ask this, but I'm new to all of this gnutella and p2p stuff. I've only tried audiogalaxy, morpheus (old and pe) and now i started to use kazaa. Its interface is similar to previous morpheus, with audio, video and so on user friendly search filters, plus the ability to search by all, artist or title (in the audio section). Morpheus used to have this too but the new preview edition is very similar to Gnucleus: they put all in the same search list, audio, video, text, software, you name it. For a person mainly interested in audio and video, like myself, one would apreciate a user friendly interface with such search options. I never tried limewire or bearshare, so i don't know how do they look like nor work. The only thing i dislike about kazaa is that i didn't see yet a single mp3 file with more than 128 kbps. I do prefer 160 and sometimes even 192 kbps, but now i don't see none on the net. Give me your opinion as i see, from what i've read here, you all are experts in these matters. |
For videos you should try eDonkey: http://www.zeropaid.com/edonkey/ For MP3s try Song Spy: http://www.zeropaid.com/songspy/ Song Spy bundles a software called n-case if you want to delete it use ad-aware: http://www.cnet.com/software/0-806181-8-7309404-1.html Morpheus is not only similar to Gnucleus, they use the source code from Gnucleus - the only change is that they added some banners! I've never tried Song Spy (I'll have to check it out,) but for mp3s I usually go with audiogalaxy (with the AGStreme interface.) I don't know first hand about videos, but I hear Kazaa lite is good for those. And there is always eDonkey to fall back on when you can't find what you're looking for anywhere else. |
