Lord of the Rings has a distinguished reputation

You could set up a Test account on the computer, see if LW works there.

I wonder if the issue is graphic card (video card) drivers. That might be why the newer LW versions refuse to work on my mac intel. (LW 4.16 is the last version I can apparently use. Which has some bugs which keep appearing now & again.)
