Deleting the preference folder worked perfectly to fix this problem.

im having the same prob, turned all firewalls of deleted bits added bits im sick of it if i new of another file share id use it, ive used lw for yrs on xp ive had a new laptop with vista and now nothing aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,

Yeah, It's not the pref folders or Java or the firewall. I even went through my email and downloaded LWpro on my other laptop which has XP on it, went through all of the steps and still nothing.
I'm starting to think maybe it's my wireless network. We have free city-wide wireless here in New Orleans provided by Earthlink. (Featherwifi.net) It's worked fine for a while but maybe they started blocking it or something. I'm gonna go try the coffee shop and if that doesn't work then that's everything I can think of.

I have no idea as I haven't been back on to the computer w/ Vista that I'm trying to run LimeWire (it's a friends computer) I suppose I need to uninstall/reinstall LimeWire and that's as much as I know at the moment... every time i try a search for music, a window box appears saying "currently trying to connect to internet, not a lot of results until fully connected." what do i need to do, because i can't get any music until its fixed!!!
