 There have been a few issues with the JRE 6.1 with some limewire users and rolling back to the JRE 5.11 can be the answer... I'm not sure what you mean by the folder being closed you need to follow the instructions in the link I provided and fine the LimeWire folder and if you have it the .limewire folder and delete them...
