Default Please help, can't connect

I upgraded to Vista a few weeks ago, and now limewire won't connect. It was working perfect when I had Xp.

1. OS version? Vista Home premium 32 bit
2. What firewalls you have? As far as I know just Windows firewall, and whatever box was checked under the firewall tab in my router
3. How much ram? 2GB
4. Hard Disk space available? 298GB
5. Connection type? ADSL
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Linksys WRT54G Version 6 wireless router
7. Where are you trying to connect from House
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? Java 1.6.0_02 Limewire 4.12.15
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? MTCO
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? The test worked
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. ADSL modem is plugged into linksys router which is plugged into my Sis computer. I get internet through my USB adapter also a linksys product
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. New problem
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? YES!!!!

Your Linkskys has a Nat Firewall as you are aware of and will need to Port Forwarded...These are the instructions for the WRT54Gv5, hopefully they are similar if not the same as the v6....

Port Forwarding for the Linksys WRT54Gv5

ok I spoke too soon. For some reason it worked that one time and now it will not connect again! The port I chose was 33990. ON the link you gave me it has a step where I enter the static IP of where I want to forward to, and basically you just have to put the 1 in the box cause all linksys are 192.168.1.1

Well, there was something that happened when I setup my router and so I have to use 192.168.2.1

This mean I cannot enter anything into the boxes when they ask cause they use.1.1, and I use .2.1!!!

Also, I went to my router setup page and in addition to putting 33990n in the port forward boxes and selecting "both", I went to the port trigger tab and put 33990 in every box there as well. I also enabled dmz, and still I have the damn firewall symbol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure I am following, did you not create a static IP number ??
Did you select the box in the instructions that say "Find Staic IP"

I'm not sure I understand this static IP thing. I don't know if the other computer has a static IP.

When I did the ipconfig /all, the DNS server was 192.168.1.1

While the DHCP, and default gateway were 192.168.2.1

Yep, so what you do is fill in the boxes with those numbers, where the instructions tell you to (it's best to write down all the info from your ipconfig screen) once they are all filled in you click on the "find static IP" and a IP number will appear, then you go back to the port forwarding instructions page and enter that number into the box it tells you to and you go from there...

ok, I'm trying to do this static IP thing. In my router setup page, there are Static DNS 1, and Static DNS 2, both have 192.168.1.1 in them.

There is also a static DNS 3 and WN, but nothing is in those boxes

When I type the ipconfig/all, my default gateway is: 192.168.2.1, and subnet mask is 255.255.255.0

I will continue on with the tutoiral and see what happens

ok I jsut went through the static Ip thing. All was good until the very end where I go to network connections and stuff. the button was checked on find automaticlaly, and so there was nothing in the IP, Subnet, and defualt gateway boxes just liek the tutorial said, but when I went to manual, there was still nothing in those boxes, and thge tut said that there would be numbers in there that I could write down so if things went bad I could set it back to the way it was.

Anyways, I still enterd the static Ip and stuff in, but it gave me a warning:

"The default gateway is not on the same network segment (subnet) that is defined by the IP address and subnet mask. Do you want to save this configuration?"

What should I do? When I entered the info into that tut to give me an static IP it said I should use 207.179.242.136

Also I only have one name server (DNS) in my router. Is that normal?

If it is any help, my comp, and my xbox 360 receive the wireless signal. My Sisters comp is the one actually hooked up to the router, and the ADSL modem is also hooked into the router

ok, that static IP guide is bogus. I did everything in it, and put in the Static Ip it told me to, and after that I couldn't even log onto the internet! Had to change everything back to the way it was. WTF man!! This is getting very aggrevating. Why am I the only one with a problem like this?
