Try updating your Java. Download the latest update here.Use the JRE offline installer.

Remove all other Java versions installed before installing the update.
Add/Remove Programs in Windows Vista - MSDN Forums

If that doesn't help, try reverting to an older version of Java. Same deal - JRE offline installer & remove the version currently installed before installing another version
