can't start LimeWire

I can't start the 2.7.3 version of LimeWire. I have JSDK1.4.1_01. Not sure which is the problem because I upgraded both at the same time. If I double click the icon in Windows, nothing happens. If I try to run it from a command prompt, I get this:

STARTUP ERROR

I got the same message. Mine won't start either?

It seems that the code is calling libraries that don't exist....

Unregisterd Guest dude (whoever you are) - what version of the JRE are you running?

Alex71 November 4th, 2002 01:40 PM

Also getting a startup error message and can't get into Limewire on Windows XP. Previous version worked satisfactorily on Windows 98.
Is forwarding the error message to Limewire supposed to bring a reply? It's been 3 or 4 days now.

Can't start LimeWire?

What version of the JRE are you using Alex71? I'm using J2SDK1.4.1_01 ...

Erro message

Dawgg: Don't know what you mean by JRE. My version of Limewire is 2.7.3.

JRE = Java Runtime Environment. Dawgg is asking what version of Java is resident on your system, not the version of LimeWire. ;)

Erro message

Thanks, Rutro. Appears to be J2SE.

Frustrated with 2.7.3, I downloaded and installed 2.6. Now, no matter which version I try I get an error message and can't get past the Limewire screen that says "loading messages." I can't get the screen off my monitor either (except by rebooting) and the program doesn't appear in the Windows Task Manager so I can shut it down.

mine won't load either

am trying the international version instead. see how that works....

also went to the bigger version of JRE to see if that helps. dowloading it now. it's taking forever.
