Very interesting. Both of your properties show that you're using Java 1.3.1, yet you say you've gone to java.com and upgraded? Perhaps our LimeWire.exe isn't recognizing the newest versions of Java. That would be bad. We'll take a very close look into this. In the meantime, try resizing the options window (dragging the bottom left corner down and to the right some more). It should be resizable on older versions of Java. Thanks for your help. |
Tools>Options no Buttons Dear BigDog I am getting the feeling there may not be a solution for this problem, I originally thought that there may some registry setting that accidentally go turned off during installation but now it seems not. There seem to be no feature that can be turned on or off, nothing that can be installed or uninstalled. I am getting depressed :( . LimeWire seem to have the proper features and user interface but all that means nothing unless your "preferences" (Options) can be saved. UK Bob |

You can also try changing your theme, from the menu View -> Apply Skins, and choosing a different skin, such as the Windows or Default, or Classic one. |

Tools>Options & Buttons 1 Attachment(s) Dear Guys I don't believe it, I resized my "Options" by moving it to the top of my screen and dragged the bottom line of "Options" down to the bottom of my screen, and the result is attached. sberlin, you are the man. I am somewhat mystified by sberlin remarks that we are using V1.3.1 of Java when I have upgraded to V1.4.1.07 (just double checked) and which is confirmed by the Sun website, which said: Congratulations! You already have the most up-to-date version of the Java(TM) platform. It is the latest, most secure, and fastest performing version of the Java platform available. How can I get Limewire to use the latest installation of my java plug-in? UK Bob |
I've tried doing the same,and guess what... IT'S WORKED!! YIPPEE!!!!! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/309.gif |
Tools>Options & Buttons Dear All Now that this problem has been solved, we must now move on to the next. How can I get LW to use the latest version of the jave plug-in (V1.4.1.07) instead of the old defunct one, i.e. V1.3.1? UK Bob |
