![]() Hello I had the same problem with this file but with WinMX. You see this file is set up to be your Default player. I turned off Lime Wire player and only use Music Match Box. I see no errors at all. This file is used by Musicmatch Jukebox to detect when a CD is inserted in your computer. When a CD is inserted, mmtask.exe launches Musicmatch Jukebox to play the CD. This file is not harmful. It follows the official Microsoft method to be notified of such events by Windows. That is, it exists so that Windows can tell it that a CD is inserted. Because it only responds to a Windows event, it does not use any CPU cyles, so it will not slow your system down. If you don't use Musicmatch Jukebox or you don't want it automatically playing CDs, you can safely remove this file. You need to remove Music Match and install a new copy. You must of deleted a program or a file associated with mmtask.exe file. I hope this will help you. SableGS |
