| This topic has almost been addressed in the past. I'm using Limewire in XP.. I just downloaded a file that apparently has too long a filename for windows to deal with. I'd ask why windows allows a filename that's not allowed but I know the answer ("Gates: screw you, we're Microsoft.") Anyway, right clicking the file shows a shorter than normal menu. I can delete the file only by deleting the folder it's in. But I don't want to delete it. I want to rename it. I've tried to rename it in a command shell but it can't deal with it either. I tried burning it to CD in hopes the burning software would automatically shorten it. No luck. Is there anyway I can rename this file? Thanks. |
