the 'limewire virus'

well i had the virus talked about in the sticky above , or in the links in it ....

since the computer is new , i didnt hesitate to do a small restore back to the day i bought it ( less than three days ago ) and i also did a complete file / disc cleanup with it , and re installed limewire from limewire.com ....

im guessing i got the virus by downloading zips , claiming they were limewire pro , and they were not ... well things appear to be in order ...
i dont know much about viruses , or what they do or how they work , but im also guessing it stopped me from configuring settings , by closing the options window the second i opened it ...

it was hard to get help , when all these virus threads and posts are from the year 2005 ....

i guess this post is more informative , than asking anything but ,

is the problem over ? i restarted my computer a couple times , and everything seems in order ... but its too early to tell .. a list of my problems is in this thread

thanks again:)

Update your virus definitions and do a full/complete scan and see if this picks up anything -- also do an online scan with one of the antivirus programs listed here by lotr : (WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of!) Also read through this link it's very informative -- it's never to late to learn good habits.
