Default Cliche running Limewire + ITunes

Hello all. I am new to the arena so bare with me if Im repetitive. I am having an issue running both Limewire and ITues together on the same computer (WinXP). The issue is that the computer stalls for about 1 - 2 mins, then its okay for a bit, then repeats. Is there a compatability issue I'm not aware of??? I have the latest updates and newest versions of Java (I want to think so). Any ideas??? I was able to run both before using each others older versions, up until I updated to Limewire 4.17, and ITunes 7.3. Each program seems to operate fine ALONE. Thanx for any help.

It might be a good idea to re-install your Java RTE as both programs rely on it to run properly. First download the offline version of the RTE from: Download Java software from Sun Microsystems After you have downloaded the offline version which should be aprox. 15.18 Mb uninstall the java RTE from your system using the uninstall section in your computers control panel and then install the new version and see if that makes any difference to the way things are operating. If that doesn't work see if uninstalling and re-installing both the RTE and Limewire Lime Wire » Official Website & Free Download, BitTorrent « at the same time helps to solve your problem.

Might be an idea, just a small thing to try is to temporarily disable the iTunes look for shared libraries, and also the LW iTunes support. Then re-enable each. Might make no difference, but worth a try. And yes, Java is probably related here so making sure Java is properly installed with the updated version is important. Too often Java online installations become corrupted.

BTW if you get a message saying Java is already installed, then use the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel to remove all versions of Java. Then run this utility: Crap Cleaner to clean up the registry, then reinstall Java as suggested with the OFFLINE version.
