Default blank/frozen screen

Believe me, I've been looking around the forum to see if my blank screen problem has already been answered, but I don't have an ATI or Nvidia card, and I don't know which version of java to downgrade to, where to find it, or if moving to a previous version is going to mess with any other applications.

Here are all the relevant specs on my system.

I have a Dell Dimension 2400 with 1.25 gb of ram. Pretty sure video is handled on board.

Here's a link to the system specs:

Documentation

I'm running the latest version of Java according to their website. Java 6 Update 6.

I appreciate your help, and let me know if you need any more info.

I am having the same problem with my Lime Wire. I downloaded the latest java application and when I turn on Lime Wire in a minute or so the screen goes blank and my computer is frozen! I have a Panasonic C247 and it has a Pentium II, 128 mb, and I run it with Windows ME. What I think might be my problem is not enough memory, but I have check my systems for available space and Im not even using 10% of my memory. Can anyone help me?

System Requirements: 256 MB RAM and a live connection to the internet. If you haven't got this then I'm afraid it won't work.
