Lime Wire will not even open (Error Msg) (corrupted installation)
 
I have been having trouble with my Lime Wire pro that I bought over a year ago. The program just stop working or even opening about 12 days ago. I click on the icon and all that pops up is this msg with a bunch of other info.

I tried to log on to the support link with my e-mail address I used when i first bought the limewire but it said "not found". So.....I can't even contact tech support. What on earth can I do about this? Is there another way to contact tech support like a phone number or something?:bangh:

I've been having the same problem as of late. Have you managed to fix it and if so, how did you do so?

Your license would of run out by now (12mths) hence no support.Have you tried to uninstall/reinstall it -- NOTE- if you do uninstall / reinstall you will reinstall the latest free version and not your previous pro version. Also take note of your LW settings as you will have to reconfigure the new version. Please use the Limewire program to uninstall [ie] Start --> All Programs --> Limewire --> Uninstall

When I first downloaded my LM pro it said it was a one time pmt. Yes I tried uninstalling and reinstalling just as you said. I had to finally download the free program but still can't access my Pro. I truly feel like I have been ripped off. The site wont even accept my old accound info so I can re install the LM pro.

I wish it was fixed. When I first downloaded Pro it said one price for life but now they say 12mos. That is a crock. I'm not paying again, they need to stick to there word and uphold there end of the deal. Good luck with yours and I really hope they man up on this some how.

The max license period for LW is 12mths and has always been -- if you downloaded the basic version and didn't keep your setup/installation for the pro version that you had then you wont be able to install it again (well for free anyway) did your basic version connect ok

I have now had LW for 4 years and this is the first time I have had this problem. They only charged me the one time back when I first got it. I canceled my credit card 2 years ago and have no others. So how is it only for 12 months? The problem isn't that, it's that my program stopped working and I can't seem to contact support because it was so long ago I can't remember my log in info lol.

Two years ago pro support was only for 6 months. A year & half ago they introduced a 12 month option for support. Once that period is reached, your email addy on their systems is auto removed. Oh ... from time to time LW do offer a one time Pro with no pro support or updates.

You still have the Pro installer right?

Try the following however use your Pro installer instead: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/333278-post2.html

Delete your previous LW Preferences folder before you reinstall LW; instructions here: Point #3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) or if using Vista, see http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...der-vista.html

BTW I'd suggest using both of those system cleaners suggested. ;)
