Default My mistake

Sorry about that, I thought it had to be posted in the relevant area to the problem, anyway below is a copy of the post I had made.

Hi I have recently tried to upgrade to LW 5.1.3 from an old 4.? Pro version, I attempted this twice but it didn't seem to work so I uninstalled the old version before trying yet again. I think that it has installed ok the problem is when I try to open it, all seems fine to start with as I get the Loading prompt at the bottom but this then freezes after just a few seconds, when it does this I can't do anything with it .

I would be greatfull for any help, I have been having a good look round at all the suggestions and I have tried quite a few and also done some of the checks like the firewall bit, all check out ok and other stuff didn't make any difference, any replies of help please keep simple, although I know my way around a lot of things when you get to the tecy bit then I am a bit lost.

Thank you all in anticipation.

What version of Java are you using? Go to Start > Control Panel > Java > click on the General tab > click on the About button. Then you'll see which version of Java you're using.

Also go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs & see whether you have more than one version of Java installed.

Try reinstalling Java: Java SE Downloads
Download the JRE offline installer & remove any other Java versions installed (via Add/Remove Programs) before installing the new one. Reboot your computer after installing Java.

Otherwise, try the other fixes here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/window...ng-should.html

Thumbs up Thanks

I have latest version of Java (6) installed and no others showing, so I followed the instruction including the link, still nothing so call me a defeatist if you like but I have now given up and uninstalled LW5 and re-installed the previous version 4.18 which is all working fine.

So thanks for all the assistance given.
