Limewire not reading Java? Hi. I looked through the other subforums, and I'm pretty sure this is where a thread about this would go. Mmkay, so. Recently, I hadn't used Limewire in a while. So when I opened up the old version, I was pretty confused when it WOULDN'T start up. It went to the loading screen (of sorts) but immediately got an error about how I needed Java Runtime Environment. I go redownload Java. Didn't work, reinstalled Java. Still didn't work. So I went to upgrade to Limewire 5.3.6. And I still have that same issue. I have both Java Runtime Environment 16 and 6, yet for some reason, Limewire keeps telling me that I don't. I have Online Armor as my firewall, I'm running on Windows XP. No matter what version of Limewire I'm using, I keep having this problem. What do I do? D: |

I've seen this issue with a few users. Question is, is your Windows XP 32 or 64 bit. You will need 32 or 64 bit Java depending on which version windows you're using. See http://www.gnutellaforums.com/349419-post8.html; LW will not recognise your Java because it is searching for a version that would be expected to be found on your 32 or 64 bit Windows system. |
