Hi I have A Dell Desk Top with LCD 20" Screen, Running MS Windows XP P3, Intel Pentium 4 CPU, 2.80 Gig and 512 Meg Ram with Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller’ Connected to ‘Internode’ ADSL B/Band
I run Sygate Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy Bot and Webroot Spysweeper
My Problem is I Cannot start Open the LW 5.5 update this makes 6 times now. Go's to “Spider Lime” >Scouring for Limes/ then Closes? I have done the Java thing and downloaded the latest?
However! Once it went all the way thru to the "Search Page"! I thought I had it made' but as I went to check “Preferences” it just closed again or did not stopped Connect?
I just turned Web root ,Spybot and Zone alarm Off ( by default Zone alarm turns the windows FW off).
I went to Windows Firewall/ Exceptions/ and found 2 ‘Limewire’s’ listed one Lime Wire Windows Media Player.com and the other Limewire Programs .com listed there! Both were “Unchecked” so, I ticked them both and 5.5 Loaded immediately to the point of the “GUI and Connecting and Full “blue bars”, then lost connection or closed! I deleted the “Exception” for Limewire/Windows Media Player.com/ and tried again and I got to the GUI/ Connecting but Bars empty and it closed again. Should their be 2 Limewires Listed in “Exceptions” and would it make any Difference’ because Zone alarm turns “Windows Firewall” off anyway? Web root and Spy Bot have no “Exceptions list’s and Nor does Zone alarm?
I have to keep going back and try to reload LW 4.18? But now I cannot even do that?? It starts out as a 4.18 LW Download” but on the install it reverts to 5. 5 and installs that’ and it still won’t start?
I just checked this out from another forum and tested the LW ->GN Connection opposed to the “Up and Down connection and this is what I got:
Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www3.limewire.com:6346.
I Also Tried to check UpLP at the Linskys 911.1.1 but no go
Unable to connect

Thanks very much for your advice, I managed to reinstall LW 4.18 and it's working OK for my purposes so I will just use that for now' Cheers Dasha
