![]() a newer version of limewire is available is the msg that displays when i try to open the program - click yes to continue is the option if i click no it doesn't try to start up - when i click yes an error box comes up that says --------------------------- Error --------------------------- There has been an error. Expected option but got "day\AppData\Roaming\LimeWire\LimeWireUpdate.i ni". Options start with a leading "--" prefix Use --help to get a list of valid options --------------------------- OK --------------------------- anyone seeing the same thing? i can't open the program at all |

I wasted an hour trying to figure out how to fix it before I just uninstalled limewire, and went online and installed it again, which of course installed the latest version. works fine now. ![]() Updated limewire now on 5.5.16 but it still won't let me open or run the programme.never had any problems previously,checked java is latest and firewall is ok.Tried redownloading after taking limewire off by still no luck.Anyone with any suggestions I can try?? piflonkyd |

![]() Yes, try Reinstallation Technique. I do have a suspicion with the new version deleting the old preferences folder is the way to go. However, be sure to make a backup of the Downloads file (downloads.dat) which is found within the preferences folder. This contains your previous incomplete downloads history. Take care how you handle & return this file, important to follow the instructions to the word. ![]() |
