a few questions (Skins, Player)

hello-
i have a couple of limewire questions-
1-when ever i try to change skins it seems like limewire restarts (it goes off then comes back on) then when it comes back on the skin is the same. i cant change them.

2-if i am listening to a song from my limewire library and i scroll or click opn anything the song starts to sound like its being played on a cd with lots of scratches.....

Just go to this web page and download the skins via LW. Lime Wire » Skins Gallery. Then apply the the skin and "Viola".

The LW player is crap, it snaps, crackles, and pops , good for previewing files and that's about it. Try using a different player. Open LW and go to Tools>Options>Player, untick the box by "Use LimeWire Media Player" > Apply > OK.

Your songs will now launch in your default player, or download a different player and set it as the default. I use winamp but there are plenty of others out there.

thanks 6 pac. i changed it and now the songs play from windows media player. how will i enqueue songs. the button is gray and i cant click on it....

and i already have the skins that are on the link on my computer. when i try to download the skins off of the link(using limewire) it says that it needs more sources in the "download box". out of the 13 skins i have saved i can only use "windows classic" and "windows theme"......

You'll have to enqueue them in windows media player. Just add your files to the WMP library. Open WMP and go to File>Add To Library>, have it monitor your shared folder(C:\Documents and Settings\"your account name"\Shared). Enqueue songs by right clicking them(in WMP library page) and add them to "Now Playing List".

For the skins, right click on the files once their in the download window and have it "Find More Sources", then right click it again and have search for the file again. Once it's downloaded you should get a popup asking you if you want to use the new skin. What version of LW are you using?

try deleting LW's preference folder with LW completely shut down. See points 2 & 3 in this thread: Fixes for Limewire. This will reset all your option settings, so make a note of them first.
