Hi Guys, I was using Bearshare for years. I had never connection problems or something like that. :xeri_ok1ani: Now one day ago I wanted to use Bearshare. I was waiting and waiting but there was still no connection. Ther first led was always flashing red. I´m using BS 5.0.2 pro btw. I looked for the firewall status and I looked for the settings in my router. But everything was fine. My Computer is also ok (no Virus or something) So I looked here in the gnutella forums and found that connect.zip from aaronwalkhouse. I managed to connect bearshare with that package but later on I had the same problems with the connection. So my question is: Is bearshare now really dead? I mean this is really sad beacuse BS is the best p2p ever  Is there some way to solve this problem? Because I don´t want to change to limewire/frostwire :shoot: |
I'm not sure exactly what your specific situation is, but I always eventually get connected... do a search of this forum for PG2 (peerguardian 2)....find the relevant information and follow it...that might do the trick... |
1 Attachment(s) BearShare connects for me also. You DO need to update & replace your connection cache files. The older ones are out of date. Remember to make exception for BS in your firewall. :) You might need to remove & re-do another firewall rule for the present BS you are using. Depending on which brand firewall you are using, some firewalls see different versions of a program as almost different programs altogether. And one firewall is enough. Two causes problems with p2p sharing programs. Connection cache in AW's post or click on attachment below. ;) |
Hello Everybody I still can't connect with BearFlix and BearShare, something interesting I found out is, that I can take a connected peer from LimeWire, enter IP and Port into BearFlix and it connects successfully with that Peer. Currently I'm using all caches from Gnutella web cache scan report and they still don't work, most of the peers have a timeout and if one is handshaking, it is Full http://ayra.ch/temp/bfImage.bmp |
Have you tried setting to Force Ultrapeer mode? |
Where is this? Quote:

You are using the BS 5 Beta right? Settings -> Service, at bottom of option window. Oops Bearflix. You can find the BS 5 Beta if you wish to use it here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/open-d...tml#post193742 |
There is no such option. The "About" Dialog tells me, that i'm using BearFlix Pro 1.1.2.1 http://ayra.ch/temp/bfService.bmp |
