BUT Limewire used to have more futures that it now leaks!
you mean features?

- Browse Host it's still advertised as a feature but it's not there anymore.
They trying to implement better where it actually works.

- Connection selection was really usefull! I don't need to be connected to all those porn servers!
I'm pretty sure over 80% of files shared are mp3s, so I wouldnt worry about not being connected to enough mp3s.

- I also had better search results with that feature. now i try to look for a song that has been on the radio for weeks and i can't find it! the whole group virtually disappeared. and i can't change anything about it cause i rely on the automatic connections and some luck.
They're trying to work on bandwidth issues for dial-up hosts (assuming that is you) with supernodes and other technologies they're developing, patience is everything.

- and what the h*** do we need a chat for?! About a year ago the gnutella dev community (which i believe limewire also belongs to) removed every kind of chat from the gnutella protocoll and from the clients due to bandwidth. i couldn't say that I have any bandwidth to share or to spill around for chat. there is no need for it - no one would like to tell you his or her address in chat just because you're so nice.[b]
This was just a "feature" that everyone seemed they wanted. But only LimeWire supports it at the moment, I think. Its just for communication for people sharing. For example, for some reason you can get a file you want, you message that host and make some arrangement. Its not meant to replace current instant messaging technologies.

since you have a harddrive full of illegal copys and you use a network that's hard to trace back to real life persons...
Ok that is simply false. Its VERY VERY easy. Gnutella clients do not hide your identify at all. I'm not sure were you got that impression at. Its has simple as someone searching for something and connecting to you (via your IP address) to download whatever it is. Its not hard at all...

and since it's p2p

Do you even know what the term 'P2P' means?

P2P = Peer 2 Peer

It has nothing to do with what you're speaking of.

how would i ever find my chat buddy again?
Thats why you tell them you're email or other IM name.

correct me if i'm wrong and i'm just to dumb to find the functions i miss.
just dumb.
