 Some people were having trouble with the most recent version of Java (version 6)...so we would recommend that they stick with Version 5 update 11. Some Vista users were having trouble with the older version, so we would recommend that they use Version 6. If you're not having any trouble currently, and you use one of these two versions, I would keep things the way they are. You can update if you want to.
