OSX Tiger and Limewire Installation
 

Just an FYI...

After installing a fresh copy of the new OSX, Limewire will not install.... I am sure it is just the installer itself, but something that will need to be fixed for all us who have upgraded...

What error message do you get in the Console (in the Utiliites Folder, I presume) when you try to install?

Nothing...

It bounces once in the dock and then goes away. The installer doesnt actually run...

I am trying to install limewire on a fresh install of Tiger btw...

No error message in Console? :confused:

Was Console (the application that's in your Applications->Utilities Folder) running before you tried the installer?

The jum build would most likely solve it but that doesn't solve the regular LW installer issue faced here.

rkapsi has been testing LW and Tiger . . . and tried to reply earlier but the forum was/is down.

Stay tuned . . .

It looks like as if your Installer.app or some of the surrounding components are broken (e.g. Install.framework). Have you tried to install something else that is using a .pkg installer?

To isolate the problem please try to launch Installer.app (you find it in Applications -> Utilities) and if it works do a right click on "Install LimeWire.app", select Show Package Contents and then navigate to Contents -> Resources and double click "Install LimeWire.pkg".

Ok, so I had a bad install of Tiger...

I tried running installer, and it wouldn't. I had to reinstall Tiger from the ground up. After that Limewire installed no problem...

but heres a problem....what if theres no problem with the os or the installer and limewire installs completely and still just bounces in the dock and does nothin....... cause thats what mine does and installer works for everything else ive got on here and the os is clean..... im gettin desperate here..........
