Pro upgrade question Hello I'm using Limewire 4.9.30 with os10.3.9 (Panther). I am pretty satisfied with the free version but was wondering what the real world improvements might be with the Pro version. Does anyone have an opinion to the actual benefits of upgrading? Mike Allen |

There's really not much difference, other than giving LW a few bucks to help them continue developing the gnutella network. That's well-worthwhile. The devs tweaked the settings to allow downloading from a few more sources (if found); connecting to a few more ultrapeers if you're running as a leaf (searches go a bit further, thus helping find more/better sources); not getting the nag about Pro; and probably a few other minor settings that may change from version to version. For OS X users especially, it's good to get Pro, since our bucks keep reminding LW that we appreciate their efforts, even though Apple's java support makes it frustrating for LW to keep developing for the Mac. cheers (btw--I've never regretted getting the Pro's, and will continue to support them as long as they keep developing for the Mac). |
