Default I've just changed from a PC to a Mac...

Hello everyone

I've just bought a Mac (yay!), and I'm wondering how to reinstal LimewirePro on to it from my old PC. I purchased Pro about one year ago and so have no option for technical support.

My Mac operating system is OS X 10.4.10.

I would appreciate any assistance you could give me.

Thanks, Linda

Sorry for late response. If you haven't worked it out yet, it's rather different to windows. After downloading the dmg file, if it doesn't mount immediately, drag & drop it onto Disk Copy program (Found in Utilities folder .. use the Go menu in finder to go to utilities folder.) After it mounts, double-click the program inside the disk image. Follow instructions from there. Then after installation, drag & drop the disk image into the trash which is the trash icon at far right of your Dock. You can keep LW program in your dock by holding your cursor onto the LW icon whilst it's in the dock & choosing keep in dock. Else drag & drop it to a new location in the dock. You can also drag items to the dock from any folder to keep there.)

Thanks for your response. Sorry to be such a dunce, but I'm a complete dummy when it comes to these sorts of things so you will need to spell it out for me: do I need to copy my old Limewire Pro across from my PC using the method (dmg file transfer) you describe, or download a specific Mac version of Limewire then somehow update it to Pro using your transfer method?

And what IS a dmg file lol?

Like I said, sorry to be a dunce on this

Thanks

Linda

dmg is a disk image. It can be mounted onto the desktop & appear in the same way as any disk does. .dmg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

No the windows version is different. It is an exe file which does not open on any other computer platform other than windows. So you will need to get another copy of pro. Else use Basic.

Your Pro support will have finished now as last year they were only offering support & free updates for 6 months. Not until very recently did they introduce the option to get Pro support for 12 months. At the end of the period your name is automatically removed from their database. During the last 4 weeks of support they offer a discount to continue with support. This can be seen on your personal download page during that period. That's why I always recommend to all pro users to BOOKMARK their personal download page & check it periodically.
