Default No firewire in advanced tools

I'm on Mac tiger and can't connect. I don't have anything in the Advanced Tools menu except statistics. I trashed and reloaded Limewire, 4.14. I can't connect because I'm behind a Firewire. What's going on? Why don't I have the Tools I'm supposed to have in the program?

No LW's preference options are found in different location. Same as almost all OSX programs,
No firewire in advanced tools-osx-lw-prefs-tab.gif (click to see larger view)
(keyboard shortcut-> Command/apple key & comma) , or under the program name next to apple icon at top left of window, click on it & choose preferences.

I know all about that- but the support FAQ's and other posters have said to click on Tools in LW, then "advanced" and then "Firewire." That's what I don't have, maybe because I have Basic LW?
It seems to be working now, though. I don't know what happened, if re-installing it solved the problem or what.

Thanks for the help. I've dealt with the Firewall issues on other torrent programs, never seem to find a port that works.

Those FAQ's point to windows users, who have their options in a different location. I was clearing the confusion up for you.

If you wish more assistance, then please see to the other points I left. (the blue links)

I assure you the problem has NOTHING to do with the choice of using Basic or Pro. It's a basic set up issue. The problem is either your software firewall, modem/routers's internal NAT firewall, else your ISP. (or a combination)
