well this is partly true... HUGE should at least make resuming alot easier and fail-safer.. shouldn't it?!
people will always complain that they can't see the changes. well the heck with it even if you don't feel it this is a really worthy piece of software that's coming up...

it's still buggy though...

CVS Huh?

So are we all supposed to compile our own version of LW in order to get the new features? I thought thats what the 10 bucks paid for. At any rate. They should get a new beta going at least with some of the new features. Anything is better than nothing at this point I think.

CVS is a system used to simplify the work of many programmers on one piece of code... Anyway it is always the latest code that's been developed.
beside the developers there are a couple people testing it and/or using it. but they compile it themselves.
code from the CVS is not close to a beta. It might be when a beta is released but currently it is alpha or pre alpha. I think normal users wouldn't like it because it usually has more bugs and is not as optimized.

you paid the 10 bugs for a working piece of software and not for a untested software. and that's what they are working on right now.

a beta will come out when most bugs have been fixed. you should just hang on a week or two (don't blame me if this is a wrong estimation :p )

if you think you want to handle those bugs send me a PM with your email in it and i will send you a zip with the current version.

HUGE isn't used to make resuming fail-safer, yet. Current LimeWire cvs doesn't rely on hashes at all, however it sends the hashes of its files in its replies which could be called something like initial HUGE support. As for the rest, like alt. loc. support, the code is mostly there but it's yet unused.

The cvs-version works quite well at the moment. a few exceptions popping up every now and then, but nothing that really spoils the download experience.

New Features

So what exactly is supposed to be in the CVS version? I would not mind cmpiling my own as long as it is not a waste of time or effects my gnetella experience.

Granted, LimeWire is still in its early stages but I still see that adding less features more often, instead of more features less often makes things a little better. Most people on the Gnetella network use it alot. I know I spend at least a few hours every night on it. Trying till fill all 300 gigs of space I have :) So I would really like to see new improvements on a by weekly basis. But since I am not there at the LimeWire Building I dont really know what its like.

As far as updates. I think that they should be talking to us more on what is going on with the program. Thats all.
