![]() Cut & Paste was introduced in SUN JRE 1.4.0 . But 80-90% of the people are still hanging on to 1.3.1_02 for their own idiotic reasons . And that version doesn't support Cut & Paste . LW runs even smoother using JRE 1.4.0 . I can't see a single reason why they want to keep using 1.3.1_02 . |

MacOS X only has JRE 1.3.1 available and Mac OS 9.x users are stuck with Apple's MRJ 2.2.5 which is based on Sun's JRE 1.1.8 . So Limewire on the Mac - esapecially on 9.x - is buggy, bloated and with no mouse wheel or cut'n'paste. Though, obviously, there isn't much the LW team can do about this other than write a native version of Limewire for Mac (not likely). We can only hope that JRE 1.4 is forthcoming for OSX (OS9 is on its way out so don't hold out any hopes for an advance on MRJ 2.2.5). This is one of the problems for LW development as a lot of users , myself included, can become confused about which features or bugs are due to the Limewire code and which are related to limitations in the Java virtual machine (for example mouse wheel or cut & paste). As for Windows users , I agree with VTOLfreak and would advise any one who can to upgrade to JRE 1.4 as I've seen that Limewire runs much better. ![]() Youre right . In 1.4.0 they did not only introduce Cut & Paste but also did an overall maintenance of all components . For example : They revised the entire networking component . If you are into P2P using JAVA that alone should urge you to upgrade . Besides I don't know why all these people are making a fuss about it . It's free ! You can download it freely . They even changed the license agreement so you can burn it onto a CD and give it to your frends ! (Wich you already do but now it's really legal OK ?) |

![]() "their own idiotic reasons" whatever. I have my reasons. The skinLF package, which AquaLime uses, doesn't run as well under 1.4.0 as it does under 1.3.1. As a result, AquaLime is faster in 1.3.1. 1.3.1 is also smaller. For HD space misers, this may be a factor. And regarding cut and paste, I'm a little confused. I am using (as stated) 1.3.1, and I have no problems cutting and pasting. ?? Anyway, for regular old LimeWire, you may as well use 1.4.0, but I at least have my reasons, since I'm not using regular LimeWire. |

![]() If i was limewire i would add a find more hosts (multisource downloading). The multisource downloading that is in there now isnt good enough, i think there should be a mouse click option, like right click find more sources, this would help download speed. Secondly, i would kill the whole limewire player, we dont need it for the osx version and maybe even the 9 version because of iTunes. |

![]() I didn't say that cut&paste was impossible under 1.3.1 . You can always write your own code to support it . But since 1.4.0 it is nativly supported so it will work in any Java program . Even if it was not written to support it . |

![]() 1. browse host computer!!! 2. display time remaining (or some approximation) in download section 3. when choosing "search again" don't get rid of previous search results 4. don't bother improving mp3 player, adding video, etc..., dedicated media players=much better IMHO |
