![]() Hi All, I am on a simple network at work. No servers, just a bunch of PC's sharing a DSL modem and some drives and directories. I am assuming that when I use Limewire I am connecting out through the modem -- through the ISP -- then to the limewire servers. Is there anyway for the boss to see that I am using Limewire or what files I am downloading (besides seeing me using it that is). Thanks. Last edited by JGL; November 24th, 2004 at 03:52 PM. |

![]() There are many programs that can tell what you are using your computer for. There are some ISPs that charge you depending of the amount of bandwith you are using, so when you your boss gets the bill he'll see you were probably using a p2p program. He can even see if you were using it just double clicking on the pc's icon or in your firewall in the system tray. In most cases, however, he won't tell. But as deepblue said, it is not a good idea to use it at work. I wouldn't advise it. There have been some cases where people got fired just for using an instant messenger.
