Movies wont burn on DVD's

I tried copying movies even as backups on dvd's and they won't copy....says wrong disc...I am using a DVD-RW...
Can the Movie be too large from LW and I have to transfer it smaller somehow?

Am I on the right track?

TY

burning dvd's

So you think that when i'm trying to burn them to dvd's the burner is not recognizing that? But it says burn to cd or dvd?
Is there something i am missing to click on?

Make sure you have a burner that can burn dvd's. CD burners cannot burn dvd's. Make sure you're using the correct media, cd's & dvd's look the same but have totally different capacities.

How large is the movie file? What file type is it (eg: avi, mpeg, etc.)? What brand & model of burner are you using? Which software brand & version are you using?

burning dvd's

I have a brand new HP... burner is for DVD's/Cd's..it's called NOW.....I've tried anything I've been able to download w/o a goofy message or corrupt...and tried to burn it to dvd...then gave up and put them on cd-r cd-rw next..

I even tried to make a copy of a movie I "borrowed" to make a "backup" copy...

didn't work....

So I figured there must be a trick to burning dvd's on the pc...

I also got a dvd/recorder with a vhs burner player combo...I haven't even opened it yet cause I wanted to master the copying from LW....

BtW...I've been reading about all these scams for paying for your site on LW...then i realized I paid for it too!!!!

I found a site called GETFlics...Lifetime membership was $38 with a $25 Best Buy gift card...I figuered $13 for lifetime is great...the review for this site (located across from the Empire State Blgd) was rated very high...I didnt know your site was free...

but now I see I think I was taken also since your site is free...

I went back to Kazaa before LW and was attacked by pop ups all over....had to remove the DL of kazaa...

LW is great if I can overcome the bogus ads hidden in the movies and clips....but by reading all these forums i'm learing about the size of files and tricks etc...

The music I will try later but should be simple...

Keep in mind that some of the material you downld is NTSC & some of it is PAL. In most cases the files you downld will need converting before burning. Personally I use Roxio Toast which does the conversion after I click the burn button. All I need to do is drop the movies into toast & press burn. But Toast is for Mac. For windows I believe the best ones are the most recent & full versions of both Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator, & Nero. There's other apps out there than can do things for you. TMPGEnc is one video utility app which edits & allows you to burn disks & recognises most burners on the market. Some sites that you might find interesting are: http://www.videohelp.com/ & also http://www.videohelp.com/tools as well as http://forum.dvd-guides.com/

Raaf...does this mean that this should not have been posted by him?
Or is there a chance if it's DL that he won't help me open it?

burning dvd's

Well I'm getting there...
I successfully burned 4 dvd+rw's of avi movies less than 700...I learned by accicdent what I was doing wrong w/the burnung on windows and the Sonic/Now

But.....now here's the problem....I went back later to check them out (after I verified that they were there) and they were gone!!!

Once these are burned onto dvd dont they stay there?

Or are they tied into LW?

Meaning if I erase the movie from LW....it wont play on the disc?

That's stupid....

That could lead me back to why they wont play on the dvd player unless the format is somehow wrong....
