Just out of curiosity what format are you burning them in ie. MPG2 or MPG4. I have/had sonic but scrapped it since I could never get it to burn in the right format to play on my home dvd player it would play on the computer though. Found out it was burning in the wrong format (MPG4) even tried working with sonic tech support to no avail and went to nero no problems since.

ops sorry got caught up reading other threads expanding my knowledge base. Don't remember now how I did it someone walked me through the process. I think in sonic it asks what format you want to use when you start. Haven't used it in about 4 or 5 months now.

Default nope...doesnt ask

fabion....it just copies your file...

i read all the stuff on the tutorial...nothing...

It compresses and picks the speed for you...after all the threads i went thru ...this does everything for you...

so....do you have experience with me burning this dvd+rw onto a dvd+r or dvd-R? would that help? or am I just recopying this windvd 4 format?

Not sure, but sounds like your like your doing a direct a copy and from my understanding it copies the original format. I'm no expert.
And now use nero or roxio for my burns. got to frustrated with sonic and there lack of useful/helpfull tech. support. Sorry I can't be of much help.

Unhappy help

OK LOTR I'm back after working on this for the weekend...

Step 1...I checked both brand new DVDplayer recorders and there is no switch to convert....never heard of pal here...but I will check the remote menu...good idea...

Step 2... I reburned AND closed the dvd's ....onto dvd+r as per the dvd/player (can play these)...instructions...

All movies played very well on the pc as usual....
got the DISC ERROR on the tv again!!!!!

Sooooooooooo...back to square 1.....
I'm hoping between ALL these people having the same problem that if someone finds an answer to KINDLY let eveyone else know....
