I'm new to LimeWire, and the forums as well. I run Windows XP, have DSL, and use McAfee as my firewall. Anyways, to my problem: Every time I shut down LimeWire, it automatically starts back up again. It slows down my computer a lot, I've got to learn how to shut it down for good when I'm done downloading. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, have a look at the stickies about viruses, from what I've read on this forum I think you might have a virus, scan with your AV to be sure and check out the stickies, also you could type in LW wont close in the search option, there will be info there.....

There's 2 possible reasons I can think of that happening. A: Go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Shutdown & make sure it's set to shutdown immediately. B: If that's not the reason then see 1. LimeWire continually Popping up every few seconds & also Opening at System Startup, & also
2. LimeWire popping up - how to eradicate it, & also 3. WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of! & don't be shy to see the last point about Norbie's site for help!
