 LimeWire is the only client to send and parse XML-based metadata now, but I believe other vendors have plans to do so in the future. The metadata format that we use is not proprietary; it was developed with the help of other members of the GDF-- including BearShare--and is published on www.limewire.com. The bitrates in current BearShare and Gnotella respones are somewhat of a stopgap solution. We do actually parse and display these format, but we don't send them in responses.  |
