It sounds like you've recently installed something that has changed the defaults to a lot of files. You need to look at undoing this. I had a similar issue when I installed a unzipper/zipper type of program & it changed the icon of LW to that of its own. lol

I'm guessing you're a windows user right? You didn't specify.
