 Yes, LW has this feature (on the left side of the LW window) at the bottom of where you write your search queries, there it says "Direct Connect". However, this feature is not a exact science. It depends on several things to work. Both of you must have "Chat" enabled, should not be behind any kind of firewall, and of course should be online at the same time.....  Just give it a try.
