Dolby digital (AC-3) 2.0 is stereo. The video rate you suggested is 3.38 Mbps ... yes that is low & should have been fine even with PCM audio ... but also depending upon the maximum setting. Unless you were using CBR instead of VBR. Anyway, sleepless will be the best one to help you on this. I don't have the nero experience. My version was 5 which didn't have ability to burn dvd's. |
Ok, thanks for your help.... i'll have to have a tinker with the settings! |
I have the same problem all the time with Nero as well.... The only solution I came up with was to convert the file with Super and then place it in Nero Vision, it then goes through the transcoding stage again, but for some reason this was the only way I could get that movie onto DVD and have the audio in sync with the movie... It's a long process, but the only solution I have found....:rolleyes_2: Link to Super.... http://www.erightsoft.net/Superdc.html |
Ok, thanks for that... i'll give it a go after I try altering nero settings first. Just out of interest, did you have problems with just audio being out of synch, or was your audio just a series of electronic noises? |
Also, what did you convert your file to? |
Mine was just out of sync, but I still think it is the same problem after doing alot of research over at the afterdawn forums... I also downloaded FFdshow it's an audio codec that pops up automatically when converting your files... Maybe you could get that codec first and try Nero again and go from there... |

The videos that you download with Limewire will almost always say if they are AC3 in the filename. And in most cases that will be 5.1 sound. If it says nothing then it is probably 2 channel. This should not have such a large inpact on your finished DVD as Nero should just convert to 2 channel if you chose that. Not sure how the other way around will work. I will probably just copy the channels on to other channels not giving much effect. Must admit I usually have it set on automatic as well and 1 pass for a video thats around 1400 MB or two pass for videos that are around 700 MB. Also I haven't used Nero 6 for a while now. Nero 7 has Nero Express and one program and Nero Vison as another (off course using Nero Express for the burn process) One thing you might look into is if your setting may say PAL or NTSC format. Nero converts it to same format as source, but you can tell it otherwise. Also interlaced is the normal way to convert to DVD. Even commersially I believe. If Windows Media Player plays it fine then Nero should be able to use the same codec as WMP did If you still have problems getting it to work then I would suggest you try the SUPER converter that WW recommended. Just make it to DVD and the use Nero Vision Express to burn it. |
