I'm not sure about those ones you listed (odd titles .) Sounds like someone is sharing something else ... I have no idea. All I know is the concept about the helping updates. But this has been within the program for a while now ... at least start of year.

Chat ... I'm not sure. Perhaps the development of the network ... has made the chat feature even more obsolete. Other than a small change in the chat interface, afaik the actual chat function has never been improved since it was originally added as a feature.
