![]() Man, as wondering Why said, Norton is a FULL PIECE OF SOFTWARE **** that is useless, try switching to free and reliable products like mine (AVG A-V, Windows Defender and Comodo Firewall), believe me, if someone asks me dor an advice on what sec. products to use, i will definitively tell them to use those apps. (Not so much RAM comsuption, and inmediat detection of viruses, malwares, and/or app leaks). And for the problem you have, i think it must be something tracking your downloads based upon any Java leak, try uninstalling Java AND Lw, then scan your system for viruses and malware, and reinstall them both, (i recomend you upgrade your Java version to 1.06), and see what you can catch. |

![]() Drk-Guy How do you come up with a Java leak. From what has been posted in the forums peoples files are being changed from one format (Mp3 to another EXE). Perhaps you would like to explain how a java leak can change a files format ????? ![]() I would like to know from some of the people this has happened to is if after the file format has been changed are all of the files the same size if so whats the file size (807kb) I believe (but could be wrong here) that a new variant of or a new virus is on the Gnutella net that once downloaded and opened searches the save and possibly the share folder and takes the names of the files it finds makes a copy of itself then uses the name it found and deletes the original file. Thus enabling it's ability to spread itself. |

![]() Man, since i've installed Java 1.06 i feel that my sytem is too much more speedy, and guess what, Lw loads up really faster than ever, and when i scanned for viruses, the AVG A-v came up with 3 new viruses, inmediatly when i updated Java, believe me that 1.06 version is faster and safer BTW: To avoid those little things, try to use Shareaza, it is not based on Java, so, if there's a virus/leak on your Java installation, you can look at it there. |

![]() It's a nasty virus that's around at the moment, take a look at this current thread and follow the advise that has been given....Your best bet is to download AVG as it seems its the only AV at this time that catches this virus... The link for the download is also in this thread.... ![]() http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=67262

![]() I know Java is open source, so, being a SO popular technology, virus coders could code a virus upon Java plattform that camouflages in the main files of Lw, or embedd itself on javaws.exe, the file that makes all the magic work, have'nt you think about that? |
