Thanks for taking the time to read my post, UK Bob.

I bought the app from the proper place, and indeed have recently downloaded and installed an update.

I don't see why I am doing everything the wrong way round. Your reply in a way backs me up.

When I buy software, why should I have to do research and ask questions to solve problems with it? I pay my money so I don't have to do that. Expected with freeware, yes. Out of order when I have paid for it. I should be able to go to the person I gave the money to and say "sort this out".

Instead, I have to use something that, in your words, has been compiled and provided by one of the forum members as a free service to LW users.

Further to all that, I can't see any discernable benefit of the pro version compared to the free one. It has all left a sour taste.

Finally, you are right. I am intelligent. I didn't mean to make it obvious though!

I agree with you..If you purchase Limewire Pro you should receive prompt replies from their support and there should be patches offered...

But unfortunately they don't..We here at this forum are all volunteers and probably know more about getting your limewire to work correctly than there email support team...

So bare with us and our quirky little fixes as they do work and we enjoy the challenge...

as far as this subject, specifically the concept of a hostiles.txt file...well, think about it...and think about how p2p is even able to 'legally' operate...the inclusion of such a list would just give the MPAA/RIAA more ammunition in their protests...

I've found PeerGuardian to be a far better and less cpu intensive solution to blocking known dillholes (can anybody say Macrovision?)...of course blocking is relative, they can still DDOS the hell out of you....
